01. Longevity

Texas Longhorns breed well into their teens. More live calves over the years mean more dollars.

02. Disease/Parasite Resistance

A natural immunity developed over the centuries means fewer veterinarian bills and less maintenance for today’s cowman.

03. Beauty

The Texas Longhorn is the living symbol of the Old West. Wherever the western influence is desired-front pasture, cattle drive, or tourist attraction-you’ll find a demand for this magnificent breed.

Proven Success

Breeding for Tradition

At RW Longhorns we focus on raising top-quality registered Texas Longhorn cattle with traditional qualities. We pay specific attention to color, structural correctness, horn shape, horn length, and a cow’s ability to breed.

We view a cow with excellent confirmation as one that raises a fat calf annually on a predominantly grass diet, and we judge our cattle greatly by the quality of the calves they raise. These qualities are what set our breed apart, and we are excited to share the future of our herd with you.

Lean Beef

Naturally less fat and lower cholesterol for today’s health-conscious public.

Longevity

More live calves over the years mean more dollars.

Docility

Longhorn cattle are intelligent, easy to work and to handle.

Pure Pleasure

Intelligent and easy to work with, easily trained for the show ring, lead or drive in parades!

Color

Add beauty and color to your pastures.

Robert and Maranda Webb

Maranada will be the first to tell you she didn’t grow up in agriculture at all.

She describes herself as a town girl.

“Smalltown, for sure, but I wasn’t around anything ag. I fell in love with Texas Longhorns the moment that first cow ate out of my hand. And back then we had a herd of longhorn/Corriente crosses,” she said.

Maranda and Robert love how Texas Longhorns have a gentle, kind demeanor.

“What we have now seems so much better than those tiny horned mostly wild cows. It feels amazing to have come this far! And we did it ourselves, a little at a time,” Maranda said.

Robert is the opposite. He started working at 13 and his first job was at a cow sales. Then he milked for years. So he grew up knowing he wanted cows in his life.

The Webb household includes Robert, Maranda, their two children, a pair of Australian Shepherds, and a black cat.

While helping maintain and manage a commercial longhorn/Corriente herd, the Webbs felt they enjoyed the Texas Longhorn attributes best.

Looking into purchasing a registered Texas Longhorn bull led to studying the bloodlines and developing a love for the rich history of these animals.

The first registered purchase was in 2012 – a bull for the herd, which led intohe purchase of two heifers later in 2014.

At that time, the Webbs made the decision to stick with and transition to registered Texas Longhorns fully.

“As we sold off our non-registered animals we tried to replace them with good females from bloodlines that we were interested in.

We have tried to continue to grow at a slow pace and be thoughtful of what we have added. We are trying to breed animals that WE would be interested in buying and owning. We are having the best of times and have met the absolute best people!”
